Member-owned equity club with 487 members, $4.8M in revenues, 27 holes of golf, four tennis courts, swimming facility, $1.6M F&B, nine-Member Board and eight committees. I was hired as a “change agent” after 10 straight years of net membership reduction and decline of the overall member experience.
Highlights include:
Transitioned FCC to a young, vibrant, family-centric club. Welcomed 80 new members in 1.5 years, 50% under the age of 45 with 2+children. “No stone left unturned” philosophy led to improved member experience on every level, translating to 34% increase in member retention.
Surveyed membership on F&B. Garnered 164 responses and 600 comments. Created and implemented 24-page F&B reinvention plan. Increased net financial performance by 56% while improving the member experience.

Ran the daily operations of this family-oriented country club with 400 members, a great high- desert golf course, swimming pool and restaurant. Created and implemented market feasibility studies, competitive analysis, operations budget, business and marketing plans, fee restructure, member satisfaction plan, and employee training and development. Profitability of the club increased over 500% during my tenure.

Managed AGC flagship Mountain Gate CC with 27 holes of golf, 17 tennis courts, three F&B outlets, 1,400+ members and 150 employees. Full P&L responsibility with annual sales of $12 million including $1.8M F&B. Increased revenues by $1.5 million (13%) at fully matured property in saturated market. Also averted a member class-action lawsuit!
As Acquisitions Manager, led the transition team to convert 15 recently acquired properties worth over $300M to American Golf operations. Prepared business plans, implemented public relations campaigns and presentations to existing employees and members.
EMBASSY SUITES HOTELS, Arizona 1989-1993
Assistant General Manager/Sales Manager, Embassy Suites Scottsdale
Managed daily operations of flagship full service 233 suite corporate hotel with annual revenues of $7 million. Created hotel’s first yield management training module and was tapped to present regionally. Competed with the local Ritz Carlton and our hotel ranked #1 in average daily rate and occupancy within the Embassy chain.
